Family Copies has been re-creating paintings since 1984.
Derek Bird, founder of Family Copies, transformed the process of re-creating paintings 25 years ago. When the rest of the industry were relying on individual painters to copy a painting by hand Family Copies developed and enhanced the photographic process, the Oleograph, invented in Paris in 1900. Our pictures have always been highly respected in the fine art industry and are known for being the most faithful of re-creations produced today.
The bulk of our work is re-creating paintings sold in major auction houses, but also for many private clients all over the world. We work closely with many of the major museums, art galleries and picture libraries all over the world to produce re-creations of nearly any painting in the world for our clients.
